Abstract art
Abstract art is the artistic style that emerged around 1910 and whose consequences have made him one of the most significant manifestations of the spirit of the twentieth century.Abstract art does not need to justify the representation of the figures but tends to use its own visual language with a varied siginificados.
At its inception, abstract art led to great controversy and disagreement. In fact, already in prehistoric times styling and geometrismo were used. But with the passage of time it has become an inexhaustible source of ideas for artists of our century and now nobody dares to question their existence and identity as a proper art.

The language used is based on the Fauves experiences and feelings of the author, usually exalting the power of color.

There is also the expression Cubist structure, which results in different geometric and constructive abstractions.

The abstract tradition experienced a major revival in the United States from the late forties to the Action Painting and Colour-Field Painting. These trends were superseded from 1960 by the appearance of minimalist art that began a new period of interest in geometry and structure, interest period of abstraction that continue to adopt many inspired by the most varied motivations artists.


Asbstracta Sculpture

Abstraction in sculpture pursues the same purposes as in painting, though hardly the same styles can be recognized.
Among the non-figurative sculpture stands Georges Vantongerloo, trying mathematical coding volumes and Theo van Doesburg both belonging to the group Der Stijl.
Antoine Pevsner (1884-1965) is the most representative sculptor: Projection in space, kinetic Construction, Spectral Vision, Naum Gabo: Head of a Woman, celluloid and metal, Eduardo Chillida, with its monumental sculptures: Comb of the Winds, The Praise the horizon, three irons and Julio Gonzalez.

Abstract Artists
